Na Aldo wont get fined for that. He is from the slums in Brazil and fights for the people there hence joining them to celebrate his win. Anywhere else there might be questions asked but not in Brazil with "his" people. Not the first time he has done it either, done it a couple of times when he was the king of the WEC

Felt sorry for Etim with him being one of ours and a decent fighter but had Barboza down for the win. What a finish though  Etim will be haunted with that for years to come

Paul Harris is a absolute monster as well. Taking legs home with him and ending careers as he does it. Anyone in the middleweight division with long skinny legs should be very worried

Change of plan for the next Fox event. It will now be Sonnen vs Bisping and the winner gets a shot at Silva

spinning heel kick ko   that decision on ilegal blows was fuked up aswell was a good show. i like bisbing but sonnen will go through him like he wasnt there, after watching bisbings poor win over a gased miller. sonnen could fight at full pelt all night just cant see bisbing winning apart from a lucky ko. bisbing will end up on his back eating elbows simples.

i think silva will be running scared of sonnen mite pull a mayweater and say he wont fight unless theres a spot urine test before training camp and pre fight to get out of fighting him

Possibly was but at the end of the day, its down to Nog to tap - he didnt so why would Mir stop (not having a go, just saying)

I had a bloke in an arm entanglement (police hold) that did something that sounds similar to that. Fortunately for me, he was more than a little drunk and the massive knee strike and straight arm bar took him down. Sober, I think he'd have battered me

On interview the day after said I was a nice bloke, unlike the other cop, who was...well...not very nice apparently

Nys - which one as theres loads you can do

Dutch - they dont seem to teach them anything really except the basics it seems/from training with some of the policeman ive rolled with (even the ones TAC trained). Last year the local college that feeds the Police with recruits or even raw fresh Police recruits had a days training with the local mma lot but thats been it since.

really? i know its not a nationwide force programe but ive heard of forces being taught m/a on a regular basis, krav maga, nijitsu and mma/bjj. seen a episode of night cops were a copper tryed to subdue a drunk with a body lock while standing the cop then triped him so the cop was on top within sseconds the drunk had him sweeped and was putting the cop in a arm triangle  passers by came and helped the cop but the cop said if it wasnt for the public he would've been in big trouble  the copper was a big fooker aswell, the drunk must of had a base in something. just goes to show how much a little training can do.

True that... although you can get the videos the day after normally.

As for Bisping vs Sonnen, I think Sonnen has the edge - but it's probably a little closer than it at first seems. Yes Sonnen has great takedowns, but he doesn't do that much damage from the top. Conversely Bisping is good with takedown defense and also very good at standing back up. So if Bisping can keep things standing more often than not, then you never know.... . I hope Bisping does win, Chael is full of sh-t and it'd be nice for someone to shut his mouth for him. Preferably by KO!

i like both fighters yes sonnen is a dick but hes entertaining. all sonnen will do is put bisbing on his back the whole fight just like he done to silva minus the performance enhacing drugs :yum:

im sure some forces do, but the ones i know personally as mates, unless they train BJJ/JJ etc then they dont tend to bother - ok Herts isnt exactly crime capital (though im sure alot of sh-t goes on), but the ones i know would rather just go home and eat/sleep than train or go to gym and build physical muscle.

Thats also the trouble, you dont know what the other person has done in the past or what theyve watched - i took a mate no-gi once and thought id toy with him a bit - he ended up sweeping me and laid and prayed (he was heavier and i didnt know the counter)

Itll be interesting watching next weeks coppers with their basic training though. Also did you see i think it was the bbc1 coppers programme of the dude trying to take out 4 in Luton? With a bit of knowledge, hed have been able to 'dispatch' all 4 (they werent attacking as a gang or being violent towards him as such)

You get taught very basic strikes and restraints. Depending on your role, some cops will do additional MA but not in the job. I know a bit of judo and even less BJJ from a colleague who is a black belt (rare , I am told?)

You tend not to need it too much as you rely on force of numbers, weapons (including taser) and talking (main weapon). That bloke was the only one in 7 years to escape that lock.

My old sergeant and two mates are very much into MMA and it was funny watching one of them dispatch a "cage fighter" ;D

Thats because nowadays, everyones a cage fighter who watches it or 'practises' it unfortunately. I go to some of my local shows and watch some of the guys i know fight and sometimes the quality of the fights is shocking - in 'sparring' id walk through them (and im by no means good!) and yet their up in the cage or youll get some that look like school fights when you was in primary school or people who just should not be in the ring but because they think their 'hard' - theyve got what it takes;
BJJ 'legend' Jude Samuels (first home grown BJJ Black belt i believe) earned the nickname 'The Dentist' by knocking out his opponents teeth with a knee - his opponent had only been training martial arts for 6 weeks when he decided to take the fight, Judes been practising for years

He does fight properly but won't be for a fair few years now ;)

To be fair to him, he is a featherweight and the lad he turned up against is my size, so probably heavyweight. He was going to go for it and then when the cop cracked his knuckles and started bouncing on the balls of his feet he kind of gave up
