Took the car back up to TDI North today for a couple more goodies.

I decided to get one of their EP3 Race Manifolds fitted, along with ES Engine Mount Inserts. I'd originally wanted a Toda Manifold, but couldn't ignore the fact the TDI Manifolds are about half the price, and give very similar gains.

I'd also fitted a GruppeM in place of my old ITG Maxogen before travelling up, so had the K-Pro retuned for the new mods.

The car made 235bhp and 172lbft Torque (as near as dammit), which means I've gained 15bhp and 7 lbft from just the Manifold and GruppeM.

I doubt the GruppeM has made much over the ITG Maxogen, so that's a very healthy gain from just a (great value) Manifold.

Needless to say the car goes and sounds even better now. Most of the extra noise is coming from the GruppeM, and supprisingly even with the addition of a Race Mani, the Toda Exhaust is still pretty quiet around town or at Motorway speeds.

EDIT: Found my rolling road graph

You getting a Toda Manifold to go with the Exhaust then mate, or a TDI one?

Now I've had a chance to drive the car for a few days, I'm really liking the new exhaust note and the extra torque when town driving.

However, I've noticed there's a "zingy" noise from the manifold when accelerating. The only way I can describe it is similar to the sound old air-cooled VW Beetles make. It doesn't sound like the usual heatshields vibrating etc, as I've had that in the past. I'll jack the car up and have a thorough look over the weekend, although it might just be the thinner tubing of the new Manifold transmitting more "engine noise".

nice results  changing the manifolds do make them sound a little tappy/rattly a little annoying but well worth it as im sure you will agree ...

It's been a while since I've updated anything, but I took the car up to TDI North on Monday to have the following fitted:

- Wavetrac LSD
- Competition Clutch Stage 4 Clutch
- Competition Clutch Lightweight Flywheel
- TDI North Baffled Sump

Picked the car up today, and now the clutch bedding-in procedure begins. 500 miles should do it, so I'll have to lay off the VTEC until then.

I don't think many people have fitted a Wavetrac LSD or Stage 4 Competition Clutch yet, so I'll report back what they're like when the car finally gets driven in anger

So far though, the clutch is very easy to live with. Got stuck in a few traffic jams on the M6, and didn't have any issues with it. As expected, the clutch pedal is a little harder, and the bite point is different, but I'd got used to it by the time I was home. Admittedly, I stalled the car twice before even leaving the yard at TDI North, but in my defence I'd been driving a Honda Jazz all week  .

BTW, there were three other EP3s at TDI North today, when I came to collect my car. A Satin Silver with nice alloys, another NHB Facelift parked next to mine, and on the ramps yet another NHB with a "Hondas-on-track" sticker on the rear. No idea if they belong to anyone from the forums, but all were looking nice. Be interesting to know what work you were all having done, if anything.

Really good so far, and I've not even driven the car "properly" yet. Only got 200 miles left until the new clutch is bedded in properly :WOOT .

I really noticed the LSD a few nights ago when it was raining heavily. Pulling away quickly out of side roads usually causes a bit of wheelspin in the wet, but with the LSD the car pulled harder then normal into the turn with no wheelspin. Took me a little by surprise the first time, but I'm getting used to it. The steering also feels "meatier" when accelerating in a bend, and so far I've not heard any noise from the Wavetrac, so design/quality seems to be on par with the Quaife LSD.

I'll know more once I've been on a good B-road blast
