whats so awesome about the iphone nowadays compared to any other smartphone?

Siri is a pretty awsome idea, quite whether that followed through to real world useage is still to be seen I think.

Not so fussed about upgrading the iPad2, because I don't carry it round with me or use it in public, whereas being seen with a 4S when the 5 is out means I'm less awesome than 5 owners.

Now i can use it without having to touch my phone, open apps and even lock the screen its much more useful

Things I would like to see on the iPhone 5

Bigger screen - When writing emails and SMS in landscape mode the 2 lines you get is just too small. Note bigger screen doesn't necessarily mean bigger handset just better use of real-estate e.g. no stupid black borders top and bottom or thinner bezel.

Better reception - 3GS is pretty pants for reception, not sure if the 4's are any better tbh especially considering the dropped calls fiasco.

Better battery life - this is always going to be a problem on phones that have alot of processing power though so I'm not sure if it's achievable.

I'll probably give it a month or so to wait for any major issues to surface, and then decide whether they're serious enough to wait for a resolution or go ahead any buy anyway.

Took a punt on the 4S with its battery issues and so far no problem, I'm easily getting 2 days with around 9 hours usage.

Dont right off this Nokia phone it made big news at CES 2012 recently and it complements microsoft os really well.
i have played about with the lumia 800 and that was really nice. The 900 is a much better. may not have top spec compared to its rivals but dont let that put you off, it has some excellent stuff, and i think this is a real turning point for nokia and microsoft.

Rumours of lumia 910 with 12 megazillionpixel camera, still interested in this phone despite windows OS. Bored of iPhones and android isnt that great.

Added a dictation feature into siri the other day. You say 'translate' then what you want to be translated 'into (insert language here)' and job done.

Doesnt use googles translate though, some microsoft thing which isnt as good, only issue.

By then android might be developed enough to be a contender, so I may review a few alternatives before upgrading to the iPhone 8
