but it's in the OEM position  I am planning on getting a new front 'H' badge and rear type r badge once the car is back from the body shop because they are chipped/flakey.
No the type r badge is definitely a little too high have a look at a few others on here its a pet hate of mine just lets down a really well modded car imo :salut:

Ahhh, I was thought you meant the 'H' badge  I see what you mean now! I'm suprised I never noticed it to be honest, I'm going to lower it tomorrow because it's annoying me now you pointed it out

Oh, and the K24 dipstick will probably be a different length to the K20 one as I think they are dependant on displacement. There are other K20 Honda's which use the orange dipstick but just not in the EP3.

Right, the next thing on my list was to sort out the massive amount of stone chips that my EP3 had like a lot of others do. The paint has always bugged me since the day I bought it so I booked it in at the body shop for the second time last month ( I had to cancel the first time due to unexpected expenses).

This is what I had done.

Re-spray:

Bonnet
Front bumper
Front splitter
Wings
Wing mirrors

Blow in:

Rear splitter
Rear Bumper

I've only got a few photos so far as I haven't had a chance to give it a proper clean and wax but it looks 100x times better than before. :WOOT

BEFORE

Stone chips on the bonnet.

Stone chips and scuffs on the bumper and splitter.

Scuffs to rear bumper and a VERY bad attempt by the previous owner to touch-up one of them.

AFTER :-D

Quick photo at the body shop. Not a bad colour match IMO and still way better than it was before.

I haven't got any photos of the rear yet as there are still a few little niggles with the work that was done so I need to speak to the body shop and see if he can sort something out for me but I'll post more photos when this is done.

looking good mate.

wings look slightly darker but silvers are prone for that after paintwork.even just laquering a silver panel can make it darker.

Yeah I noticed that too and it seems to only be on the passenger side. Anyway i'd rather have a slightly darker wing than a load of stone chips

The whole front end plus the damage (scuffs) on the rear splitter and bumper cost me £420 IIRC.

So it’s been a little while since I’ve updated my build. As I mentioned before, after my respray I wasn’t completely happy with finish on the rear splitter as it looked a bit hazy. Before touching it I rang up the body shop and asked what would make it go away and he said to use a bit of polish and maybe some t-cut, unfortunately that didn’t work. I booked it back in with him and he had it re-sprayed in no time and didn’t charge me anything.

Hazing before being re-sprayed again.

Anyway, back to mods. I was looking around for second hand Spoon N1s for quite a while and then made a sudden impulse purchase and ordered a J’s C-304 60R exhaust from Caroline at Sumopower :-D . The only downside was that they didn’t have one in stock so I had to wait for their container to be filled up and dispatched from Japan.

It finally arrived (sooner that I was expecting) and I fitted it last weekend!

Fresh from Japan.

Welds.

J’s plaque.

I'm not sure what this is for...

OEM exhaust off.

Image

OEM exhaust weight. 7KG.

Image

J’s exhaust weight. 3.2KG.

J’s fitted.

I didn’t have time to take any more photos of it on the car as I was to busy driving it but I’ll post some up next time. Unsilenced and J's =

Up next? Well, I ordered some Power Flex gearbox mount inserts and Energy Suspension Engine mount inserts from the guys over at Area Motorsport and hopefully I’ll have some time to fit them in the next week or two.

Thanks for looking. :salut:
