My CTR got a Buddy club RH, inox pipe and mugen twin loop axle back. Way too loud.
Since I don't want to have any problem, I'll save money to put the mugen RH, but I need to find a pipe with resonator on.
Are toda pipe sold seperatly (i mean without the mufler?) it seems, for quietness, it would be the best thing to do to match with the mugen mufler that I already have. I would like to keep it max 98db.

This was also running with a GruppeM, cams and nitrous so may be quite a bit higher than a normal NA setup.
Saying that, I think Jason AKA Nosman got black flagged as well and he was totally standard!
what is the point of the track day if your goin to get black flaged with a standerd car???
i thought track days was a place you can go to drive your modded car the way carnt drive it on public roads.??

how do these 700bhp skylines get to go on a track then.???

sorry if i sound dumb to the rules of track days im purley asking as i dont know

here in Italy we have many restrictions for road use. for example we can't put nothing on the CTR, not even a air induction kit. not to mention larger tyres :bad-words: :bad-words:

.....but on track we can do proper racing with proper prepared cars with open exhausts and slicks. we are spending so much money and time to prepare our cars for what? for measuring sound levels on a track ?

put restriction on the track and we will race on the streets and mountains roads and the tragedy will come soon...

we are racing on tracks were there are F1 GP, LMP, WTCC, GT, F", F3 etc so ........sound levels...ridicolous

thanks God that here in Italy we still have a bit o freedom to race!

Here in reunion island, we do not have a real, large circuit. So roads are filled with race car, so so.

But, I guess the laws are the same for everyone, if you crash on open road with a modified car, insurance will not cover the loss since you have modified your car (at least, in the french insurance system, this is what we get)

hey mate you had the HKS and de-cat didnt you. I was thinking of getting a teg and putting either a Skunk2 or buddyclub on. I currently got a HKS cat-back on the ep3 and it isnt too loud but dont have the manifold/de-cat like you did. How much louder is the skunk2 and is it like the HKS loud on the vtec but ok down low?
Whats it like for driving on the motorway?

alright mate. Yer i had the hks, and the skunk is ALOT louder, trust me. Would take you for a spin you were around london! Its alot louder in vtec, and low down isnt too bad BUT below 2k revs its fine but when you hit above 2-2.5k revs, iirc, it gets very loud then tone drops again. On the motorway its very loud lol. Hard to talk to people sometimes, especially if you're doing around 90mph+! Its great though, i love it

I've heard a few clips on youtube and it sounds fantastic on the VTEC but sitting at 70 is it loud as f*ck mate? Why did you change anyway, did you feel you'd get more power from the Skunk, I know the piping on the HKS is 2.5" or maybe its 2.25"? and the skunk is 2.75". Did you get it cause of your JRSC because of the better flow and do you think if the car was N/A it'd maybe lose power on a 2.5" because there would be too much flow?
if it was too loud could you get a bung for it?

Sorry for all the questions mate but it sounds great just very interested in the system.

it does sound awesome mate. yer on motorway, i wouldnt exactly say its quiet!!  . i changed becasue i was told that to gain optimum power i should get the skunk(if i could bare the noise)/a few others also, this was when i was n/a. yer its 2.75 and so more flow then the hks being 2.25 IIRC.

it comes with a bung mate, ive used it once, never again though, makes it sound like a wet fart!!! not nice! :bad-words:

if you dont mind NOISE then get it mate. but it helps if you have the power to go with it

just get an exhaust that isnt stupidly loud that you can use on the track day so your running a proper map while on track, why bother spending all that money on something and then put it back to standard when your at the place that you can actually put it to some use. theres plenty of exhausts about that will be fine on track, i run a full piper 2.5" system inc mani and decat which comes in a 103.5db so just within the limits

My jrsc setup was mapped to 304bhp so it's not as if it's that restrictive :)

Flaming balls of hell fire :bad-words:

I'm running the same and was hoping the combo was closer to 100db.
