It's the latest in thing in Japan and the market there is fickle. Remember how many FTOs they bought over 18 months, only for them to sell extremely poorly for the remaining 6 years of production. I wouldn't judge anything on first month's figures. Even Corsas are popular in the first month....

No because the economic situation is on a knife edge there and due to whats happened with Toyota and Honda in recent months regarding recalls it was what they expected. However it looks like the car taken off big time.

When you consider they don't sell that many models in some European markets in an entire year its impressive.

It was the Honda marketing department and they have to issue denials, all part and parcel of the game.

The truth is that Type R versions all depend on how well the base models sell. Based on the fact they had set aside budget anyway plus the intial orders are 10x the expected amount, then a Type R will almost certainly happen. :thumbup:
