Looking Good...

Bloody hell, even following Twiglet's original instructions it still took ages. Firstly there are countless more of those 'popper clips' than for the Mach 1 CTR. Secondly, make sure you do it using a ramp or something that can hoist the car up in the front. I was down on my back on the wet ground squeezing myself under the small space in the front.

Bascially I've got a few extra popper clips and a coupel of screws/bolts left over haha (I know where the bolts go at least)...Also recommended is another pair of hands and a thick duvet/towel (I used a bike cover) so when you tug the bumper off it doesn't get scratched all over the driveway!

Watch this space , will post pics soon. any questions please feel free to ask!

p.s. make sure you allow an hour or two as it can get a bit tricky. Have a torch and ramps handy if you can....do'nt let the car roll on you too

p.p.s I reckon the red Honda badge can be replaced too (with a different/smaller one), as can the grill, as can the bumper itself !!!

What kind of mesh did you use. I have got diamond ally stuff and I plan to do the fog lights as well because mine will be just the black covers

RGM Championship black mesh from Halfrauds - cost around £20-£25 I think. I only used half of it!

Is that the mesh that is plastic or metal as the only black mesh i saw in halfords were plastic rubbery type.

Its metal but covered in a plasticy type of material, almost like a thick bit of black paint. Definitely metal as I managed to cut my hands on it a few times!

Did you bend it around the hole and ISOPON or just cut it to the same size and tie-wrap it on? I'm still wondering what the best way to do it is.

I cut it to size, around 3-4cm larger than the hole. Then I used the cable ties and attached them in symmetrical places around the hole and tied them real tight, cutting them off near the ends. From the front you can't notice them at all (they're black)... It was difficult bending it round the hole without cutting my fingers though with some pliers you could do this. I however found it unnecessary as using cable ties pulls the grill flush with the bumper anyway... also the Isopon 40 is not necessary. I bought some but didn't use it for a few reasons:

- you don't need it. The cable ties hold the mesh securely in position. It will not move even if a rock hits it ...also by the time a stone hits the grill it will have slowed down enough so even if it bounces up inside it will be going too slow for any damage (plus this seems virtually impossible!!)

- If ever you need to replace the grill for whatever reason (eg, somethign happens to it that tears it (which is also highly unlikely) you will never be able to!

- The I40 makes a big mess and is more hassle than is worth.

Trust me that the mesh is going nowhere provided it is securely tightened in at least 5 places. You'll know what I mean once you fix it! The hardest part is getting the bumper on and off!!!

Could be your ISPs proxy server playing up. I remember when I was with BT Broadband we used to get a lot of broken images. Their fault, not the website's!

Looks good - definitely going to have to do mine, although I'm not too sure where I'll get the mesh from - don't have a Halfords over here, and only one motor accessory shop (that I know of) which sells Max Muppet stuff... :(
