I shall talk to the man who installed the manifold tomorrow so I will ask him about the details of problems during the installation.

everything arrived fine last week with no help from tnt (they split the package of 3 boxes so it came on 2 deliveries) getting it fitted on friday and then i just need to book my setup day for my k-pro. although no idea how much that will cost

We now have stock of our new PIPER full stainless steel single box cat-back exhaust systems :-D

These 'single box' PIPER systems are exclusive to ABP Motorsport and are not available anywhere else.

System is 2.5" bore front to back and comes with a large 6x4" polished oval tailpipe which has to be one of the best looking tailpipes available for the EP3.

System fits really well and tucks up tight to the chassis so is ideal on lowered cars. As you can see from the pictures the PIPER system smoothes out all of the bends on the system and offers excellent flow charachteristics. Even though this is a single box system the rear silencer is quite large so the sound levels are sporty without being unpleasant.

And the best bit is the price @ only £325 inc vat :-D

We also have the PIPER exhaust manifolds IN STOCK for immediate fitting or delivery.

PIPER Stainless Steel 4-2-1 Sports Exhaust Manifold @ £345.00 inc vat
To be used with either:
PIPER Stainless Steel de-cat pipe @ £106.00 inc vat
PIPER Stainless Steel Sports Cat @ £265.00 inc vat
Buy a PIPER Manifold with either a sports cat or de-cat pipe from ABP and receive an Energy Suspension Uprated Engine Mount insert kit FREE OF CHARGE (usual price £25) :-D

Independant dyno testing has shown the fitment of the PIPER Manifold and PIPER system to give a +22BHP power gain and +18.5LB/FT increase in Torque on an EP3 Type R.

We can mail order these out UK & Worldwide or fit them in our fully equipped workshop. Please call us on 01270 567177 to order or arrange booking in.

Many thanks for reading, Chris

I don't have copies of the power runs carried out at CPL and these are the ones carried out by PIPER when they developed the parts.

You'll have to speak with CPL if you want their power graphs.....

I would be very interested in one of these single box systems but would it be possible to put up a sound clip and/or a db reading as the general consensus on here seems to be that single box with any aftermarket silencer is very loud?

Its more an issue of resonance as well I would say at motorway speeds rather than absolute volume.

I was looking at a blueflame system which looks near enough identical though it does have a slightly smaller rear box admittedly but it also has a mid-box and is the same bore, and that is meant to be very loud?

Thanks

We don't have any video or sound clips at the moment but when we get some we will post them up.

I've driven an EP3 with the header, de-cat and system fitted and yes it's get attitude and some may say it's noisy but at motorway speeds (70/80/90mph) it's not unpleasant and certainly quieter than a lot of the Jap spec systems i've experienced.....

The fitment of the cat-back system alone with the standard manifold sounds great too, nice deep note @ idle with a good deep sound under acceleration :-D

the installation went well with only one issue (one of the bolt holes doesnt line up and had to be adjusted).

after about 24hrs the engine light has come on. ive gone with the high flow cat and was wondering if there any known issues?

I have a K-pro waiting to be installed and hope this will solve the issue

i'm guessing it should have been mapped when you had the manifold fitted.
sorry to be no help, have you been thrashing it?

no i havent been driving it hard as i wasnt sure what was causing the error plus the mrs got the book out when she saw the light and i was 'instructed' to drive gently.

i couldnt get the car mapped when i had it installed as my local garage dont have the facilites to setup a K-pro.

I need to know how much the different setup options cost from tdi to then book it in, think ill ring them at lunch and work from there
