As far as I know its just oem springs, looks a litte lower because the 215/45/17 Bridgestone's fill the arches a bit better.

5.1 is for road use where as DOT4 can be used on road/track and has a higher boiling point, think I read somewhere that this fluid is good for upto 3 years but i'll probably change it after 18 months.

Oh right mate, wasn't 100% :lol:

Normally its every 6 months but with this fluid it can last upto 3 years, this is what it says about the fluid.

ATE Super Blue Racing High Performance Brake Fluid is designed to excel within the extreme demands made on a race vehicle and exceeds all DOT4 standards. It is compatible with and will mix well with most DOT3, DOT4, or DOT 5.1 fluids.

The formula offers a minimal drop in boiling point resulting in a long-lasting fluid that may not need to be changed for up to 3 years under normal highway driving conditions. Products with a lower wet boiling point have to be replaced considerably more often (e.g., DOT3 products should be replaced annually). The overall high dry and wet boiling points make this fluid an excellent choice for street driven vehicles, too, where brake fluid is flushed less frequently than that in race-driven vehicles.

Features/Benefits of ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid:

* Blue tint of fluid makes bleeding brakes easier
* Ideal for race use, excellent choice for street driven vehicles, too
* Boiling point minimum: 536 degrees F
* Wet boiling point minimum: 388 degrees F
* Viscosity at -104 degrees F: max 1,400 mm 2/5
* Designed to last up to 3 years under normal highway driving conditions

To maintain the functional reliability of brake systems, brake fluid must be changed according to the specifications of the vehicle manufacturer (quality and change interval). In race/track applications, it becomes even more critical that the brake fluid is routinely changed to maintain optimum performance.

Liam Type-R wrote:So need 2 of them for the 1.5 needed then?

Thanks, another one to look into.

I asked about the quantity needed and the independant specialist I go to said only about 700-800ml is required so 1 litre should be plenty.

Very nice CTR Superman001. :salut:

You will need more brake fluid for flushing the old stuff out properly and for bleeding the brakes. As Liam Type-R mentioned you will probably need more like 1.5litres imo.

As for the number of CTR 30th Anniversary Editions left then there may well be a lot more than you expect as I did hear that Honda did make the Anniversary Edition for other countries aswell (not sure if it was 300 per country that had the model?) :scratch: .
I hope I'm wrong with that statement as I too own an Anniversary Edition but thats just what I heard.
I mean you've probably read as I have too that "only 300 of these models were produced, 100 in each of the 3 colours" but I think that statement is refering to the UK market only.
Definately well under 300 of them left though in the Uk and eitherway they are still "rare" models incomparison to the standard CTR. :cool: :bigthumb:

I think your right theres got to be a lot less than 300 in this country now, probably around 70-80 in each colour depending on how many have been written off :roll:

Small update

My drivers side front caliper siezed the other day but lucky the disc didnt warp.
Had a new caliper delivered today but didnt get a chance to paint it red like the others, will get round to it soon I hope.

Took the car round to Automek and got Andrew Baird to fit the new caliper and Goodridge lines and I can confirm it only took about 750ml to do a complete fluid change so 1 litre is plenty :smile:

Good news then and I'm glad the disc didn't get damaged by the seized caliper. :smile:

With the brake fluid amount I use more when I'm changing the fluids maker and definately more when I'm changing the DOT rating because I would just rather waste some to make sure the entire system is flushed out properly of all the old fluid/debris before I start bleeding the brakes. I do think I have mild OCD though. :lol:

When I changed "like for like" brake fluid in my old Subaru 1 Litre was also plenty enough to do the change. Eitherway glad it went smoothly for you Superman001. :wink: [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

Theres nothing wrong with having mild ocd when it comes to a cars brakes.
