imo that stupid wallpaper they put on them makes them stand out even more, i know it hides the panel shapes etc, but if it was painted silver with a set of wheels from a current audi, it wouldnt stand out half as much and you wouldnt get people taking photos. as other have said, you'd need to be an audi boffin to notice the difference just on a passing chance.

As it is, as soon as someone sees that wallpaper coming towards them its a case of - wow, theres a new model , better get the camera out!

The s3 has never none anything for me, ridiculous price tag doesnt help.

You can get them for about £14k now. 320bhp from a map, all weather power, comfort, well built etc etc. Boring though.

Surely the RS3 is more 40k+ cars? like the 1M etc, People still see the Focus RS as a 25k-30k hot hatch so surely thats still the S3?

Depends if you are matching prices or not. The RS and RS3 are the ultimate hatches from their manufacturers, both with over 300bhp

im sure 99% of people i know looking into buying a hot hatch type of car would consider the FRS, S3 etc but never the RS3 it just a different animal/price etc imo

I agree, though its only the price that sets them apart, they are both very similar otherwise and so are more comparable.

Loving the fact that it was slower than a 330i round one track, and an STI and Cooper S round others. Maybe if it was remapped, it could hold it's own against cars £15-25k cheaper than it....

Would it also be mean to point out that it did the 'ring in 8'09" when the GTR did it in 7'24'? Oh, and look what's at 7'57..... The new STI sedan has also broken the 8 minute barrier. Let's hear it for German technology

Still, it has soft touch plastics and flock lined cup holders. Handy to mop up your tears with.

Im not fussed about lap times, a clio 197 would kick my S3 in to the weeds for fun and lap times! The TT-RS/RS3 as a package are both what i look for in a car, 400bhp from a re*** is just a nice little bonus.

Ive been looking into the Evo since your purchase, but every time an interior shot comes up i just cant justify the purchase, the jap spec one is a little better though.

I do like s3's a lot, not sure I'm quite ready for the boring drive and bigger fuel bills just yet. Plus I had one a bit of a blast (private road of course) the other day that had been mapped to 310 an there was nothing in it, in fact I think I would of pulled away from him if I'd of dropped to 3rd and not 4th.. My bad
