Well I have had my CTR now for about 3 weeks and am loving it so far! Have wanted one for years now, and being 20 the insurance is still alot but has dropped enough to allow me to get one :-D

Have started making the first few of many planned mods so figured I should start a progress thread! I havn't taken many pictures so far but once the weather is better I will get the DSLR out and get some decent ones.

First off are the photos from the day I got it.

First thing I did was replace the standard gear knob as the previous owner had scratched it up quite badly with a ring. So on went a Skunk2 weighted gear knob which looks and feels alot better

I picked up a 2nd hand Buddy Club Pro Spec which went on last week. This sounds awesome  Having a slight problem with it as the fitment is so tight and it occasionally rattles on the rear ARB. There is only a few mm clearance! See the next post for pics of the problem. I have ordered some PowerFlex mounts tonight so will try fitting these and hope it solves the problem.

Also fitted a red Earthing kit today which was bought from Lee on here.

Future Plans:

JDM Mats
Gruppe/Tegiwa M
Custom cam cover (white with red rising sun by Bren)
Silvertec Indicator Bulbs
Front strut brace (E-Tech possibly?)
Refurb standard alloys in anthracite or similar dark colour
New intake/exhaust manifold
K100/Kpro and remap
Possibly lower on coilovers or springs (30mm) with FRSU
Possibly upgrade headunit to Double DIN with Sat Nav

Car will be on the stand at JapFest in May and hope to be going down to a few meets, starting with Bluewater next weekend so look forward to meeting some of you

Thanks for looking.

Phil

Yeah some of the experiences I have had with garages around my way  ...those guys were very good. About an hours drive from me but well worth the trip. Would definitely go back to them in the future.

I thought that was going to be the horrible moment you tell me there was something bad about the car

Good luck in the search mate, there's loads about so shouldn't take long to find a mint one

 Thanks for all the comments guys, quite a few people went to see this then by the looks of it!

Some more pics below:

Engine bay with wiring kit installed yesterday. It does need a bit of a clean and will look much better with a new cam cover

The next 2 pics show how tight the ARB clearance is with the Pro Spec and why it rattles sometimes  Hopefully the powerflex mounts on their way to me will solve this. In the 2nd pic the rubber looks like it has a lot of play in it. I wonder if replacing this would lift the pipe up and out the way of the ARB. Could not find a powerflex mount to replace this one though, if anyone knows of one let me know  Or if you have any other suggestions to stop the rattling it would be much appreciated!

Thanks again for the comments

Lynda, hopefully by Japfest will have either the Gruppe/Tegiwa M on there or the wheels will have been refurbished.

Got a few more bits coming in the post at the moment for the engine bay etc so :-D

Shappers, it is a pretty tight fit. I was a bit concerned to begin with but it has been on the car for over a week now and kept an eye on it, doesn't appear to be damaging the paint or plastic, but it might over time. With the new powerflex mounts I will be fitting this week I might be able to get a bit more clearance there

Small update:

Fitted the powerflex exhaust mounts tonight and my problems are solved :WOOT means I can enjoy the exhaust again because it was really annoying me! Also whacked on some Skunk2 reservoir covers but didn't get a pic of the bay.

If you scroll up you can see how close the exhaust was to the bumper and rear ARB. After having fitted the powerflex mounts:

Now I need to give the car a good clean at some point in the next few days for the Bluewater meet on Saturday!

For anyone with a rattling exhaust or fitment problems I can recommend the PowerFlex EXH011 mounts. They come with several different mounting holes so provide quite a bit of adjustment and shouldn't ever need replacing once on!

Another small update:

Went down to the meet at Eurospec 2000 in Guildford this morning and had the car dynod. It made 191.5bhp at the flywheel and 159 at the wheels with just a cat back exhaust so pretty pleased with that. Sorry for crap image quality. Imageshack has compressed it or something :vconf:

Thanks to "le8" for the dyno pic

Also put on some Heko wind deflectors yesterday, going to stick with these for a while and see how I get on but may get JDM ones in the future.
