I'm going to assume you've not driven the Nordschleife. Schwedenkreuz is the one corner I actually fear.
really why do you fear it i have only done 4 laps 1st lap i sh#t myself mad track
It'll never be a small accident there and it can catch out both inexperienced and experienced driver alike. The entry is the fastest part of the track on a public day, you're flat over the blind crest, brake, then turn in. In my DC2, I'm flat over the crest at 135mph then brake and I pootle round about 105mph as there's little to gain and a lot to lose.

The corner that kept catching me out when I was there, I have no idea what its called, but its like a douple left hander, and for all the world when you first approach it it looks like the apex is on the entry, but its actually much further round and you have to drive out wide like you're going offline, got it a bit out of shape there on the first lap.

that corner is the taker of so many, Gu in our pack lost it there back in may. My brother was in the car with him and he's done loads of laps, but even he was shocked at how quick the backend went round at 100, let off in the wrong place and you are a going.

best vid i have seen of schwedenkreuz is a guy we met a few years back in a lotus elise, he was lucky as he kept hold of it and he had done well over 1000 laps, hell he done 25 laps on the saturday in TF.

Roll on monday trip 21, its going to be an epic day, track insurance just sorted.....lol

thanks pm sent. my guess is that it costs around £300. but will wait and see what he thinks.
PM sent but think north of £300.

4 tanks of fuel; one tank from Taunton-Dover, another tank from Calais-Nurburg, that's £200 to start with.

Crossing; the cheapest, budget £50 with Norfolkline.

Accomodation on a budget is a guest house, camping or if enough of you sharing a flat.

That's already over £300 not including fuel whilst over there, laps tickets, food and drink plus anything else you want to buy.

At a guess. A high speed corner going over a crest. The car will feel very light and lift off could cause it to do what the ST did..

Possibly! :vconf:

What you should be doing is flat over the crest, moving from the left of the track before the crest, driving over the crown painted on the track (between the middle and right points of the crown) to the right hand side of the track. Brake in a straight line then keep the power on and accelerate through the corner. This prevents you having to lift. This is not something the average noob would know though.

The crest only becomes an issue if you're on the left hand side of the track where it's much more pronounced, there's less of a braking zone and will leave you with a sharper turn in.

Pic's or more details?
I will not be posting photographs of an accident scene.

He lifted and lost the rear end sending him spinning into the armco. We're all OK which is the main thing just fecking annoying that his inexperience resulted in a punctured radiator for me and now I'm stranded in germany awaiting repair/recovery.

I hadn't meant of the actual accident scene, were you in the car at the time? Or did you collect a bit of the car as you passed?

I was the car immediately behind. I managed to dodge him but hit his dust cloud.

I take it you were in the DC2 then? Can't someone fire over a rad? Or source on out there? Fairly straightforward to swap out IIRC?

Without wanting to dwell on the crash, how much was his bill for the armco and track closure?

Ouch that looks very painful.

Glad him and the passenger are ok though.

Yep fairly straight forward to swap in theory but there it's not that simple in reality. Basically it all hinges on ADAC's decision tomorrow.

No idea on his bill. He pissed off, leaving me stranded, with a damaged car and without his insurance details after I stopped to help and marshal his accident.
