OK well the car is finally finished and I had a really nice call from the guys at NZ Performance Car magazine (our largest Performance Car magazine) about having my car as the cover car on the next issue of the magazine !!!! I of course agreed and we've just done the photo shoot last weekend.

Can't post any of the pics till the magazine comes out of course, and I'll scan the issue and put it up for you guys since you won't get it there I can't see it being too much of an issue.

I did however have to get everything on the car perfect so I finally finished the in car entertainment systems that I've developed with a software company in the US and also we've developed some exclusive plugins which are now available to other users. Hardware is custom made by me and fits into a case no bigger than a small audio amplifier.

So far we have 120GB of music or video storage, Garmin SATNAV, Bluetooth handsfree phone support, iPOD support, WIFI, OBDII, Weather, Internet, Email, GPS Lap timer, Valentine One integration (so you can hard mount your V1 in the front grill or similar), Hondata ECU connection, FM Radio and a few others bits in development.

Sorry about the quality of the pics, but hopefully you'll get the idea !!

Well the PC's I make myself. I have a couple of machines, well parts that I could make into a machine for spares, but I could put you one together if you wanted.

I'd say 90% of the hassle if you can call it that, it getting the LCD touchscreen mounted in the factory dash.

It's pretty straight forward, but it is a one off type thing. Again, if you're interested I could purchase a new dash panel here (15 quid I think they are) and mount a screen in that for you and send you the whole lot working.

The PC's are small enough to mount under the passenger seat and not affect any room for passengers feet in the back. They're only the size of a small amp. The wiring I just run under the plastic centre console and runs to the speakers from there and I just got a plug for the Honda stereo connectors and ran permanent power, ground and ignition from that to the PC and then it just fires up and goes to sleep with the ignition (takes about 15-20 seconds to be ready after ignition)

Just PM me if you're interested and I can figure out what it all owes me.

That is so cool mate!

Well done on the cover feature :salut:

No it wouldn't as it needs to be a touchscreen that is PC compatible so you can control the PC with it.

Well you could use the Alpine as just the screen and use something else to control the button functions, but that's a bit clunky !

Cheaper to sell your current head unit and put that towards price of screen etc

The only other thing I've assumed with what I've said is that you've got some sort of amp running your speakers....... the systems I make don't have built in amps so if you don't have one then you'll need one. I can get a cheap 4 channel x 50W amp here for like 15 quid so it's not a biggy, but just letting you know.

Interesting :vconf:

Anyways less of the making PC's for cars and more of the making NSX's for the track :bad-words:
