These pics show some of the glow in the dark additive that I was originally going to cover the whole car in, but even thought the supplier confirmed it was completly clear and didn't tint the colour they were full of it and it tinted the colour heavily so we had to give it a miss, but this stuff "charges up" from the sun during the day and if it's outside for 2 hours say, it is meant to glow for at least 2 hours, but more like 4 hours.

You can see it in these pics that STM took for me today on the Civic Type R badge. It glows blue when it gets dark...... we're going to do some night shots soon to show it.

Have you used the House of Kolor paint for the glow in the dark bits?

Thats what I used when I did my CTR wheels - except I went for the green:

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

I used this stuff from Alsacorp......possibly the same stuff rebadged ?

The rear clusters are just the factory ones covered in clear coat with some black tinter... you just go over and over till they're how you want....... give's a good look and cheap and easy to do.

Is there any law on tinting the rear clusters in NZ?

I wouldn't mind attempting this on my own, would probably look the dogs but don't want to be failing MOT's for it. Does anyone know if this would fail an MOT in the UK?

Yeah there are laws, but they're only around making sure that the light output is visable clearly by the tester and even with tinting they are as I used high brightness bulbs and if you do it right they look dark but don't really stop the light getting out anyhow so can't see why they would fail. Depends on the tests they apply in the UK I guess.......
