I got it of my mate, he was in the process of selling all mods on his car. Never had the chance too put the manifold on though. So I Took it of his hands for £50 brand new he payed £85 i think  Think he got it of ebay? But like i said on the lookout for a dc or buddy club one now.
How long you had it for? Is it just the 4-1 header and you left the cat stock?
About 3 months now, and yea just a 4-1 header with cat stock. Couldnt be bothered with labour/m.o.t. costs at the time.
I see, so you don't get them engine warning lights coming up as its a cat stock?
No cause the cat is still there

Just got back from Unit 8 Again, and I have nothing but praise for Stevie and Mark, especially Mark. I orginally got my BC Coilovers fitted back in mid August. After hearing nothing but praise from other members of the forum I decided to get a set. I was very happy for the price i payed in exchange for the quality product and level of commitment, shown by both Mark and Stevie too set up the car how I wanted it.

I opted for a sensible drop, 25mm was about right for me. Having a Buddy Club exhaust was always going to limit my options unfortunately  However upton the geometry settings, Mark discovered for some reaon the front two wheels were not in align with one another. One was 10m ahead of the other, Not a majour issue just meant I'd have too set my geometry settings for the front another time. (I still havent got round to a body shop, get my car onto a jig and sorted it out  ).

My first test was too see how well these coilovers would grip, so upon arriving home took the car out to some local b-roads around me and my initial thought was .. "Sh#t this car is frightening around corners" . There was unbeliveable grip on offer and i was a very happy chappy indeed. After a few runs I found a setting that I was comfortable with and stuck at it.

After time, I started too experiance a knocking noise coming from the drivers side. Didn't take much notice at the time but gradually it was getting worse. I had a E-Tech strut bar, and where it joins up I thought that was the cause? It wasn't after removing and finding the knocking still there. Took it to a few local garages, all I got was.. "Bearing has gone" "Ball joint needs replacing" "May have too strip the front end of your car to see the problem in more depth" In the end I got in contact with Stevie and arranged too come up asap.

Before going up me and a friend got the car jacked up, and discovered the lower lock ring on the drivers side was loose and just spinning. After tightening and 30min drive the car was sweet, no noise. Next day it was back :-| I knew whatever the problem, it was fixable by Mark and Steve. Today I went up and Mark worked his magic, top mechanic, top guy can't fault him one bit. Really knows his stuff. :salut: He found the bolts on the top to be slightly loose and before you knew it Mark had her good as new. The journey back home was awesome, the car felt back to its old self.

Thanks again too Mark, Stevie for all your help, Will be up again soon to finish of the fast road set up and a few other bits and bobs I have on my wish list

Cheers Fellas

Was it the three nuts around the top mount that was tightened to fix the issue ?
Yes mate, the three nuts ontop of the coilover whichever side the knocking is coming from. Hope you get it fixed soon pal

I told you stevie and mark would sort it for you..just sorry I didn't suggest checking the top bolts, I should have as I checked and tightened mine a few weeks after fitting..

Quick tip for fellow bc racers, once a month clean and dress the coilies in a ptfe spray to protect them a bit, and while you have the wheels off check the locking rings. Only had to tighten mine once but I re-check each month.

Happy motoring. :salut:

ryanthetriad wrote:Good choice on the coilovers, how hard did you set the dampers too, as in how many clicks?
They are on neutral at the min, Haven't had a chance to tweek with them since i been back. How many clicks you got on yours?

lovely looking car that, nice choice of modifications too!

think i'll be getting the BC's too, also think i'll be going to unit8, hearing a lot of good stuff about the chaps there!

may i ask please if the camber adjusters, geo set-up and the coilover kit are all you needed to get that drop? - it looks perfect to me height-wise.

cheers,

mat.

Thanks mate, I'd recommend unit8 all day long - Top blokes. And yes camber adjusters for rear, coilovers with a drop of 25mm all round, and geo set-up should hopefully get what your looking for

Hows sunny torquay neway? I use too come down quite often, my ex lives in paignton.

cheers!

sunny torquay is miserable and wet at the moment... hoping for sun tomorrow though when i take the bike out for a thrash! (mountain bike) but it'll probably rain again... torquay itself is due for some major renovation work in the near future, its starting to look a bit untidy! my R is currently off the road at the moment after an unfortunate incident involving a spider and a lorry, so i do have a slightly pessimistic attitude toward life at the moment!!!

will all be back on track soon though (hopefully literally!)

So far I have tested them on neutral clicks so the softest, then cranked them up to 3 all around and now they are 6 clicks all around, I had the fast road setup, but my setup was too harsh for these normal roads, was eating my tyres had -2mm rear and -2mm front however handling was f-ing amazing. So now I have reverted back to 0 camber rear and front, but the car still handles quite well, I think the coilovers are a good piece of kit for the money and performance even if you don't have fast road setup. :-D
