As promised, here is the overall comparison dyno charts.

This shows the last run we did fully tuned when it was NA back to back with the final power tune (Andre still to spent time on drivability stuff) once supercharged.

As mentioned, we were a bit dissapointed in some ways not to get to the 300HP mark, however it seems like one of those things where throwing more boost at it simply wouldn't net the gains you'd expect and it's simply not worth spending a fortune here and then making little gains.

The true performance of this thing, and the main reason I went this way, is for the low down grunt gains and that's where the car was lacking before. As you'll see on this chart it's significantly more meaty down low and overally makes a very reasonable amount more torque.

I would be interested in comments from other SC users to see how my figures relate to theirs if they have dyno sheets I could look at. Don't worry I know not all dyno's are made equal....... (used to work for one) but it will help me get an idea of curves and area's where I can spot things.

Well got my first chance to drive the car in the dry yesterday (been raining for 2 days since I got it back) and it's bloody awesome !!!

Did a couple of flybys on the nearby motorway (yes it was below the speed limit) just so a mate could hear the supercharger from outside and his exact words were "it sounds F#$%en nuts !! )

Sounds awesome from inside the car too and the torque from literally anywhere in the rev range, even idle just pull away and put the throttle down and it's all on..... made such a difference to the car..... performs so much better than the dyno sheets would suggest.....

I'll have some final pictures completed soon once we get the engine cover and that put on in the next day or so, then I'm off to a trackday at a local track this weekend to see how it goes

Well over here things aren't so bad with insurance.

For instance, for my R34 GTR with 30,000 quids worth of modifications and 650HP I pay around 600 quid a year which over here is considered very expensive. Most aren't happy if they're paying more than 300-400 quid.

Currently I pay around 350 quid per year for the Civic and that's set to rise to 450 quid per year with the supercharger, but I had to change providers to get cover. That's fully comp with free glass cover in case of windscreen getting smashed etc etc.

It's hard to relate those prices to the UK market, but it makes me cringe when I think about what I used to pay when I lived in the UK..........

Me and a mate are sharing driving duties on the weekend so I'm sure we'll get some videos for you :D

Just got back from Carboglass where we've just masked up the final carbon parts and made them all fit perfectly !! :D and I'm stoked with the end result....... it was worth all the effort and Carboglass are just awesome professionals.

Those fussy ones among you will notice that the silicone pipes are in fact blue but I photoshopped them to be black as we're waiting on the black ones to show and I wanted it to look how it's meant to, but you'll get the idea.

You may also notice we've modified the throttle cable so it runs under the airbox out of the way and also changed the aircon hard piping with braided line so that it's tidied up the engine bay nicely.

Just had a look at those airboxes, nice!!!

Anyone over here fitted one? I see you have to relocate the battery. Cheaper than the Gruppe M and looks ten times better! Does it compare as far as performance goes to the gruppe M?

Exact opposite I believe Drucifer. Due to the crank pulley on the JDM Spec car being smaller than UK Spec cars (didn't find out till we got in on the dyno and was only making 5PSI) we had to make a larger pulley to get the right speed for the SC so we had to let the tensioner right off and the supplied belt was just too small, so then get had to get a larger belt, but I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.... Still have the automatic tensioner setup but everyone seemed happy to get rid of it and it seemed to be a bit knackered anyhow so ........

Either way it's looked after so I can't see it being an issue for us.

To respond to other posters, thanks for the nice comments....... always nice to get some positive feedback when you do something a bit custom. All in all this cost about the same as what some here had paid for their Gruppe M one and for me I think it looks much better overall with the engine bay all clean and tidy.

Performance wise it's hard for me to tell since I haven't seen a Gruppe M car on a Dynapack to compare on the same dyno but I think the dyno figures above speak for themselves relative to stock intake setup so I'd go as far as to say that I think it's as good as the Gruppe M intake........can't really see how it couldn't be as good and gives enough SC noise without it being annoying after a while like some Gruppe M owners mention from time to time.

The car is going to get a proper photo shoot done some time in the next week with the GTR and once I'm back from my trackday on the weekend I should be able to post some vids :-D

Now it's on with the NSX, but it doesn't look like it's going to be here before Xmas :( so that'll be a new year project !

Good news is that the same company that I worked with on this carbon stuff is doing all of the work on the NSX too so look out for some amazing stuff on the inside and engine bay of the NSX........... :-D

Oh and just for the record.......... I do have a partner of 3 years .............. it's just about management fellas :) Just go shopping with them every now and again and spend the odd day with them. They know you don't enjoy it, but if you do it anyway you'll win overall and you'll be surprised what you can get away with !!!! LOL

Where abouts did you relocate you battery to? I think i would manufacture something custom to keep the battery in the same area but rotate is out of the way. Just to save hassle of re-wiring.

Battery just moves down to the front chassis rail and original wires reach down there without modification.

Battery relocation kit is available from Password JDM with smaller battery to suit new position. Think it was $ 450 USD all up inc freight with new lightweight 12V battery so pretty reasonable.

Our custom carbon airbox cost me around 450 quid to make, but it was more expensive because we made proper plugs so we could make more if needed and also to help get a really nice finish on it. I think we could probably make more for around 200 quid ish I think...

Only thing that is more awkward now is that the battery is not accessible for jumping so we just fitted an extra cable to the positive terminal and mounted it further up so I can jump from there, but that was only about 30 mins worth of worth and $ 20 worth of cable.

So is both the airbox and the cover custom?

I thought the airbox was a Password JDM standard. This is on my shopping list. I will email PJDM to see about shipping costs to the UK.

Thanks, Paul.
