Does it really sound that bad mate?

The Milltek on it's own with any intake is a nice rich rasp, not overpowering at all. However now combined with the manifold it's sounds way to high-pitched and quite rough and noisy, there's no rasp at all from the pipe, you can't hear the GruppeM at all, all the sound is coming from the backbox. We're talking serious headache levels here.

It has to go, don't get me wrong the Milltek pipe is great, it just doesn't have a silencer or ANY padding in the backbox and now that the manifold is in place there's nowt to stop any sound coming out.

Performance wise the car is absolutely flying and i mean flying, the difference from 0-100 is major. Pulls like a frigging train

So whats you plan Mr Flan you going take it off? or change the rear box?

iv a custom pipe made for mine and my god its ear deafening!!!especially with the decat...

i think u shud sell me ur manifold to me :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: u dont want it really lol

You could try and reinstall the OEM catback, as an interimsolution to see if that works out as far as noise is concerned. I bet it won`t deteriorate performance very much.
It`s a bit odd, as CPL advertises the manifold as being quiet under normal use in combination with the OEM catback.

Having never been 100% happy with my paint, i decided to have the whole car repainted & finished properly...

The results and the finish is amazing





Covered in dust but the whole car is mirror finished and flat as feck...

Congrats with the respray mr Flan.

Out of curiosity, did you solve your exhaust noise issue? You said it was unbearingly loud inside the car with the manifold.
I`m currently driving around with a TDI manifold and the stock catback and it`s whispering quiet in daily commuting.
Amazing what difference a mid silencer can make, isn`t it. I guess it`s not only the silencer, but also the cat that`s keeping exhaust noise at bay.

Thanks. Yeah the problem was the Milltek system...there was no mid silencer and the back box was nearly empty of padding - all that noise was just coming straight out. If I'd had my OEM one i'd have put that back on asap. Instead I had a custom pipe made with a mid silencer...the sound now is lovely - perfect in fact.

Good man stone chips are a nightmare.

See my first car was black, loved it when clean but was a pain in the ass to keep clean! To me the car just looks aggressive (and I love that) The alloys go very very well with it and the splitters at the front and back set it off perfectly. Also it has very nice mods so its looks like a stndard(ish) CTR but certainly doesnt go like one!

Cheers fella, I like the aggressive look . Yeah, black is a mare...this is my third in a row (2nd CTR), hard to keep clean but they look the nuts when they are.
