Well, the brakes are on!

Fitting was actually pretty painless, but it was taking the old calipers and discs off that was a bit of a pain. I managed to break a bit on my impact screwdriver trying to get the disc screws out, but they came loose eventually.

I also fitted some Goodridge Braided Hoses to the rear brakes, but I'll be leaving those with stock discs and pads until they wear out. Oh, and I've replaced the old Brake Fluid with some Motul RBF600 too.

Once everything was fitted, it was time to drive around the local streets like a Granny, to scrub off the gold-coloured plating on the discs. Once that was done, I went out and bedded the pads in properly, before leaving everything to cool for an hour.

I've just been out to test the new setup thoroughly, and my god is it good!! The brake pedal feels so much better, and it almost feels like you can control the brake force better then before. Obviously, the car stops way better then before, but it's supprising how balanced the car still is under heavy braking. The backend isn't trying to swing around or anything, which I thought it might do. The Stoptechs have two different sized pistons on each side of the caliper, so I guess that helps with the balance.

Here's a few piccies of the finished product:

All that's left now is to test them out on a trackday

Nope, I didn't need to use any spacers. Stoptech say you only need about 2mm of clearence between the back of the spokes and the caliper, and the stock wheels give plenty of room.

The only thing you have to watch out for are wheel balancing weights catching the calipers. Thankfully none of mine were tall enough to catch, although it'd be easy enough to move any offending weights out of the way to the inside of the wheel.
