I'm not convinced by their gear when it's not fitted to a Skyline tbh
It does depend mate in what environment the filters are used. If they have a very supply of cold dense air they are ok but its at standstill they lose power.
Their exhausts have always been pretty good though.

Oh you mean with the bonnet shut  The HKS one, Simota, K&N typhoon etc are well known for being the worst kits on the market and ALL of them lose power. They sound good though :-D

HKS System looks good but not sure about the trim inserts :-| , guess it's all down to personal opinion really.

We too will be able to supply this HKS system if anyone wants it.

However, we will primarily be standing by our British made Milltek Sports cat-back system. This 100% stainless steel system removes the centre silencer allowing the car to sound much nicer (as every purchaser to date will testify) and the tailpipes exit within the original triangular bumper trims - therefore it looks standard from the rear of the car which seems to be the popular choice with FN2 owners.

The Milltek system gave an independant dyno proven power gain of:
+6.8bhp power along with torque increase of +7.3 lb/ft

Video's here:
http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/forum/view ... 7&t=153702

Our retail price for the system is £495 inc vat
BUT
We are offering -10% discount to forum users bringing the price down to £445.50 inc vat :-D

HKS or MILLTEK SPORT - Only you can decide

Also ask yourself this.............

Milltek - English

HKS - JDM  :WOOT

EvoStu.

Miltek - Hmmmmm, an English made car, with an exhaust system designed and tested in England.

HKS = JDM, which have had no involvement of the Foreign car other than to bend the pipes to suit.

Buy a HKS, if you want a name, buy a Miltek if you want proven system.

My views entirely. :-D

They dont need any real involvement tbh...its HKS.....

Im sure they know what makes a decent exhaust. All those Skyline and Supra drivers cant be wrong...

Saying that I was told its considered sacrilege to put HKS parts on a Honda...LMAO.... :???:

Completely wrong though. Did you know that HKS Japan have an FN2 at their HQ in Japan?
They shipped it over on the first week of the FN2's release to begin development on a range of products for the car.

The FN2 may be English built but its designed in Japan mate and therefore Japanese irrespective of the place of origin.
I have plenty of Japanese products (and english ones) which all have made in China stamped on the base of them, does that mean they Chinese then?

You pays your money you takes your choice.

I agree with this £1000 is allot of money for 8bhp which will not make all that differnce on the road apart from having a loader note

:-D Someone also mentioned
EvoStu wrote:But the standard exhaust isn't triangular? Its just a cover for the exhaust which is still a normal round pipe.
So I think you could fit the triangular trim back on? although i could be mistaken

Matt, what shape do you think the exhaust pipe is on the FN2? It is only the trim that is triangular mate, the outlet pipe is still round.

A bit optimistic ??? Didn't you read the beginning of the thread ? This is dyno proven, car was tested as std, then with the aem filter and then with the exhaust and filter.

You will be reading about it in Banzai next month as this test was done as a tuning feature.

Thanks

The figures are ATW, and it's not all about just the bhp, as mentioned above torque is up and the overall power curve is alot smoother and therefore "does" make a difference on the road.

Thanks.

I have a milltek and havent looked back since.

The back box looks very small on the HKS system, smaller than the Milltek. Correct me if im wrong.

What kind of effects (if any) would that have on the note and flow of the system?

Thanks
