5 months !!!!

My GTR's in getting new turbo setup and stuff too so I've been borrowing a mates 1.5 Civic 4 door................ not exactly what I'm used to !!!

Totally hanging out................ love that car.................... just a couple of weeks to go now. Car should be finished in the shop soon and then it's just gotta go get it's new engine and the strengthened gearbox back in and I'm back on the road !!

Bad news on F1STAR's progress............

It's taking a lot longer than expected to polish the shell and other parts before their final finish and so it's going to be at least another week apparently before we see some progress worth talking about

I'm gutted, but I suppose I've waited this long, there's no point rushing it....................... Autoworx and Custom Colours want to make it an awesome job since it'll get some attention and reflect on them so I suppose I'll appreciate the extra effort in the long run.

I'll get some more pics posted as soon as there's something worth showing......

OK better late than never, here's a bit of an update.

Special chrome finish hasn't really done what we wanted it to do which is a real shame............... it's still very different, but we tried to dull it down a bit to play safe and its gone a bit too far relative to what we wanted, but still looks awesome so I'm not too dissapointed.

I suppose that's what happens when you do something first............

Still have a look at the test fit pictures I've just taken..........obviously there's still parts to be finished, but just so you've got an idea of what it looks like.

8) That looks awesome.almost looks a normal silver in some light,then you can see the chrome shine effect.looks good.i don`t think it would look good if it had the full mirror chrome effect.

Yeah I wasn't too keen on the full chrome effect, but the reality is that the more chrome it looks the more patchy it looks, so when we tried to make it less patchy looking, it took the chrome effect away, but it ended up not too bad........

As I say it's tough when you're doing something no one else has done before, but it's coming together. Another week or so and we'll be all back together and painted ready for the engine and gearbox work to start.

I agree that the dull chrome effect actually looks great, and probably better than a slightly more mirrored finish anyway 8)

that looks brilliant mate. Top effort and i can see why you are so happy. Gutted for you that you could not get the chrome to look right.

As I said in my PM to you a while back thats the reason we chose a different colour for my car, as we could not get it right, however still looks a bloody good job.
