Right now guys, i need a little help deciding which coilovers i should go for as i have narrowed my choice down to these two brands which i think is good for my bugdet and what i want out of a suspension system. What I want to know is if you were in my position which one of the two would you choose and why. If there is anyone out there who owns any of the two please feel free to share your experiences. Any feed back good or bad is welcome!

Meister R Out of the two as they're tried and tested on Civics.

HSD's do get good reviews, however Civics in particular have very short rear shocks and without the correct shock length, damper rate and spring rate you could run into problems. That's by no means to say HSD's don't have this, they're just a little unknown in comparison.

Racing Logics are also an option in that price range.

Some information that may help a little here:

And also some prices at the bottom for everything you'd require.

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact us,

I have meister r zeta r on my ep3 and I think they are superb value for money. I have owned lots of makes of coilovers on various cars and for the money these are fantastic. Comfortable for road use and nice and stiff when you turn the damping up. No knocks or problems like I have had with other makes. They get a big thumbs up from me. Also jerrick the owner is on here so easy to get in touch with if any problems occur.

While the OP is sorted so I'll leave comment out, but if there are anything I can help just let me know.

I am going to take this opportunity to ask HSD owners as I haven't check them out lately.
Does the HSD coilovers now have a "bearing" system in the suspension to prevent coil binding?

I remember HSD use to have coil binding problem where you get lots of "twanging" noises when you turn the steering wheel while stationary / at slow speed.
The MeisterR Zeta-R coilovers have a roller bearing in the spring cap that relief this stress on the springs to prevent noises, and we had this system for a few years now.
I am just not sure if HSD have change their design now or if they still have the same issue.

It doesn't have any major performance impact, but it is a common concern on MacPherson Strut suspension and it is just an annoyance to the owner.
Just wondering what is on the current range of the HSD coilovers.

Assuming we are on about the same things, the HSD coilovers have a nylon and metal spacer at both end of the springs to prevent them binding, seems to be working so far.

Can see the components below.

I see, so they use two washer instead then.
Was interested in seeing because I know they use to use a metal washer with a rubber base... but it was twanging all over the place and wasn't sure if they had fix it.

We tried using isolator before in the MeisterR design but it was still causing binding issue.
It was a Koyo roller bearing in the end that sort it out... wasn't the cheapest way but I know there aren't any upkeep needed on those bearing.

Just had a member with an EVO9 that is experiencing some issue with noise from the front of his HSD coilovers, so I am just trying to isolate out that it is not coil binding.

interesting to see what some of these hsd look like after year or 2 of use.

I against my own rule bought used set and quality/condition was horrific so simply sent back for refund, I then considered new set only to find hsd don't offer simple rebuild service in u.k which simply ruled me out buyin set as important factor for me with coilovers.

interesting to see how you guys get on with them and what there being compared against

Thats interesting, as I was under the impression that Driftworks would supply any individual part for HSD coilovers, and thus rebuild them too, or allow for the ability of them being rebuilt through a suspension specialist.

Time will tell how they "wear", however the kit came supplied with some Silkolene Chain Lube which will act as a good protective coating for them, I've also given all the metal parts bar the threads a good coat of wax for even more protection.

I think coilovers are all very much of a muchness and when buying 2nd hand you have no idea what you are buying, my car gets occasional use in all weather, others will be used a handful of times on dry days and others will be dailied...
