Hi guys,

In abit of a dilemma on which size wheels to get..

Just a quick (probs stupid question) is there like any advantage from 17" - 16" wheels on ep3 or not really?

Plus thinking to get frsu at somepoint so just want to know/see on your opinions before doing so :bigthumb:

Cheers

There will be no advantage at all, but there will be a disadvantage, poorer handling.
Hmm suppose, just wanted a few opinion from people, as im 50/50 with seeing a few 16" wheels on ep's do look good depending on wheels i guess

I think what he means is by having smaller wheels/smaller tires you are effectively allowing the car to spin the wheels more so than if you were to have bigger ones on. Therefore it can think you are doing less/more speed than normal. :) Also can increase/decrease your mileage :)

Smaller wheels won't affect the speed and speedo, the size of tyre fitted to those wheels will cause the issues.

My EP3 had 16" wheels fitted and it looked amazing. The wheels were lighter than their 17" equivalent, therefore it would have been an improvement in handling.

Yet more forgiveness. Telegraphing just before they are about to break away. I found running 16's to give the car a slightly more go cart feeling, with more predictability. I only went back up to 17's because I needed room for the brakes I had fit, as the 16's I wanted wouldn't fit over. Working out the actual contact patch between the two sizes, the differences was neglegable as long as you run tyres of the same width. I preferred the handling. But maybe that's just me. Oh and tyres were a bit cheaper too.
