It's not even 4 tanks of fuel difference in tax, more like 1.5, think I could manage that.
Anyone know how the old one compares to the new? I'm under the impression so far as it's the same as ep3 vs fn2.

I'm under the impression so far as it's the same as ep3 vs fn2.Mk2 has all the main complaints from the Mk1 sorted, so the steering is a bit better (still not brilliant) the aero kit is standard, stiffness has increased by 41% and the suspension has been sorted. The torque steer has been better kept under control and unless on wet B roads you don't notice it at all, the Mk2 benefits hugely from it's chassis developed for the Focus RS so it can put the power down a touch easier.

It has to be dry and a good road though as it's not difficult to light up the fronts on a damp road.
They've not made a engineering breakthrough to control the power at low speeds, just an electronic brain holding more back until you get into third gear.
It does give an interesting sensation of just getting faster and faster as you climb through the gears.
With the DSC on, i wouldn't be surprised if the Mk1 was a bit quicker to 60 and as the Mk2 is a bit lighter and has more torque and power lower in the rev range the Mk2 could well be a bit quicker over 1/4 mile. Then there'll be so little between them the driver will make a much bigger difference and who ever puts their foot down first.
