It's not like you can even laugh at the constant use of the Wankel in discussion about this rebadged Focus with a higher price tag and running cost

There.. I said it :chug:
I'm just saying.

So back to the questions -

tell me what were the running costs when you ran a MPS?

what sort of miles did you do in the MPS when you suffered from backache?

How similar did you find the MPS thats just a rebdaged Focus, examples of what they have in common?
Ok you got me.... Have you seen mazda's hourly rate compared to other makers... Servicing costs are also higher than competitors cars and the depreciation really adds to the whack

Let's not even touch parts prices
You're talking poo poo. My Fn2 cost more to service, not by very much, about £20-40 on average. Part are the same, well for the brake parts i've got quote on anyway even though they're a little bigger & better.
Compare Mazda with ford seeing as they are the same company and use a lot of common parts....
I have owned fords for 5 years, but not performance models. Servicing for the derv Fiesta was about £200, the MPS is about £220, factor in 8 years inflation, guess it's about the same. Could have changed though, is an Focus ST/RS much less than £200 for a service? I don't know, never asked.

Also, most of the common parts are the bits you don't change, the brakes are different (slightly, enough so they won't fit anyway).

Guys.... Please stop... I was just bored and thought I would liven this dull thread up.... I did a comparison a few years back and the Mazda was pretty steep based on the details I got from my local dealer to run taking into account that it is nothing special, pretty dull and gets a pretty high meh rating

Maybe things have changed now.... But I wouldn't really know, have a clue or care

Go back to normal karma state and play with your mazda's on the Honda forum :)

a few years ago i read this

Labour rates at Mazda franchised dealers have been found to be the lowest in the country for the second year running.

An independent survey of 27 vehicle manufacturers highlighted the variation across the country with the average labour rate recorded at Mazda dealers being £44 an hour, according to Warranty Direct.

The survey revealed that the maximum recorded hourly labour rate to repair a car at a Mazda franchised dealer (£88) was almost £70 lower than the £152.75 charged by a BMW franchised dealer in central London – the highest hourly rate recorded.

The company beat its chief rivals such as Toyota and Vauxhall, which Warranty Direct reported, each had an average labour rate in their franchised dealers of £51 an hour, Volkswagen, which came in at £58 an hour and Renault and Honda each at £50 an hour.

Mazda topped Warranty Direct’s low dealer labour rate chart last year.

But im sure times have changed, but i don't use the dealers so wouldn't know.

Some of the figures quoted by warranty direct are complete tripe. Such as their amazing reliability tables that are completely at odds with every other independent tests.

Wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

Probably the vast majority of car owners. Unless you think finding a car with full manufacturer service history is uncommon...
