How many '04 owners have had problems with paintwork?

Considering the amount of threads popping up regarding paint issues, it's worth asking what percentage of people have had problems with their '04 CTRs. Is this another steering rack/ rear suspension sized headache for Honda UK?

Please leave poll in this section to allow for maximum exposure...

I have voted YES - but my problem is the bumpers are a different shade of silver to the the rest of the bodywork - apparently a common problem with silver.

Its not that bad that I want anything doing so I haven't returned it to the dealer - I guess you would only notice if you knew of the problem.

I've got a Cosmic Grey Sport'04, and voted No.

The only thing is that under certain lighting the plastic front bumper looks oh so slightly darker than on the metal - had this on my last car too (not a Honda), so I'm not too bothered and the finish on the Sport is first class.

Nothing so far...also voted no.
My bumpers (red) also seem to look a bit darker in certain lightning but on a daylight you won't notive any difference, so I haven't bothered myself/dealer with it....otherwise the paintwork seems to be very good.

did you have any problems with your dealer changing your car as i have a 04 red model with some dirt under the paint on the rear qtr near the light cluster? they are going to respray the whole panel as they cant touch it up with it having a clear coat on it. the dealer said they do a first class job on it but am i doing the right thing letting them do it?

A couple of patches which can be seen in daylight. Have been told by dealer to take pictures and they will send pictures off to Honda UK to consider what action to take. Just need to wait for a sunny day!

get the dealer to do it!! and then because there is a difference in the paint and the car needs to be painted reject the car because in this day and age there should be NO problems with painting a car in any colour. Demand a new car, the dealer offered to send my car back to Honda and they would spray the side of the car that was faulty, YEH YEH how could they prove that. All i would do is take the car back to the dealer and say you are rejecting it and you want your money back, see the colour drain from there faces, then ask for a new car or a £4500 discount as a friend of mine did from Peugeot.

I have had a problem with staining on the passenger side side skirt of my 04 Red. Its been there since I picked it up two weeks ago but looks worse in sunlight. At first I thought it was a wax residue or something and that it would wash off, but it hasn't and makes the side skirt look as if it has plastic on it that needs to be peeled off if you know what I mean. Am taking it to the dealer on Saturday to see what it could be.

I hear you!! I voted no as well. Mine is black and thankfully no problems - looks beautiful. However because the body is white underneath the black paint the tiniest chip shows up a mile off. Got a tiny 1 on the drivers door but it is very noticable - c**t!!!!!

Got my Silver '04 CTR on 1st March.
Took it back 4th March.
Got a full refund.
Dealer had sold on my ATR which I traded in. (Didn't waste any time there!)
Paint on drivers side was patchy on the door and rear quarter panel in the pearlescent under the lacquer.
Passenger side wasn't perfect either.
Got a Cosmic Grey on order due 'Late May'.
What a b'stard.

Voted no even though I had problems with white marks on the skirt. I think they were mainly down to the delivery sheets

paint flaked off my front splitter when I washed it (it was only 4 weeks old). Rest of the car seems fine. The dealer is replacing the splitter under warranty with one that's factory painted. :)
