To me 25 grand is way over the odds for a Civic hot hatch. I don't see any value in that whatsoever. Its not a premium car, its not that well made, its not that fast. was interested (was going to get an M200 and add a SC) but as you can't have them with Nav think I'll pass.

It's good to see folks defendig the M20 and impressive to read reviews about it being a road legal touring car but I can't help feeling if you bought a fully loaded RS and spent 13k on it that it would be able to claw its way past the M20 on the Bedford track laptimes.

And correct me if I'm wrong but my honest feeling is that M20 or M200 N/A is just not fast enough to keep up with very mediocre competition in real world driving scenarios, e.g. the blast off a fast roundabout onto a dual carridgeway or the drag 'race' down a motorway slip road.

Noone in their right mind gets to use the full potential gains of the LSD on the road, not only would you need to be reckless but probably 'criminal' in order to see or demonstrate the actual quickness of the civic against some rep in a diesel.

Don't get me wrong, love my car, but it's just hard accepting that for all it's uber looks and mesmerising engine it really isn't a 'fast' car.

On a track I couldn't argue with you, in the real world for those rare opportunities where one can compare I just don't see it tbh, but then I haven't seen the 0-100 figures and in gear times.

Agreed - my point was more that it would of made sense to include it as part of the overall styling package.
