I really dont understand this thread,why not just buy something that already has 350 bhp,why spend fortunes on a car that already struggles with 200bhp through the front wheels,just buy an evo or a scooby or maybe a 350z,my point is buy something that handles the power and is factory set up instead of changing pretty much the whole car,350bhp in a ctr is just silly.You would have to change near enough every component to handle that.

We all love to dream,but come on guys lets get realistic, 350 bhp N/A.

The whole idea of tuning a car is to make it quicker and enjoyable. Where is the fun in just buying a standard car that is already at the required power that your after.

Mine will be around the 300bhp mark n/a and will cost silly money to achieve but it will be what a car is all about for me.

Try telling cpl and Tdi to just buy a scooby instead of running stupid power through a civic.

It all depends what your after at the end of the day.

But I do agree 350bhp, no chance

At one point i was well up for getting my ctr supercharged to 300 bhp until i was watching a clip on u-tube of a 300bhp ctr on a track day at oulton park,it was flying around sounding awsome,then a e46 m3 came flying past with ease,just all seems pointless to me spending all that money,basic mods are ok cause they only cost a few hundred quid,but 3k+ for a supercharger is a bit much,but each to there own,good luck with the plan for 350bhp N/A. :salut:

Before I start, yes I know I'm a feckin stupid and just it's alot more expensive BUT...


I am a n/a fanatic, I love n/a and the driving style required to drive a n/a car. Yes it would be alot cheaper to just chuck a charger or turbo on but for me that's just the easy way out imo. I don't like turbo's because of many boosting problems that arise and don't like planting your foot, waiting for lag, oh sh-t the bed that quick, change gear already as it's over. Chargers I don't mind because they are abit mote like n/a. No lag and a nice constant linear curve all the way to the redline. Mr Honda didn't build the car to run chargers and turbo's hence the high compression, high revving vtec engine therfore to run safe power low comp internals need to be fitted If the car used hard.

I'm running in the Time Attack and n/a is alot better suited for track driving/racing. You Want quick throttle response and a nice power curve unlike turbo where it all comes in at ones.

Mine will be around 300bhp and 200ldft which is pritey much identical to jrsc.

No matter how good you think your chargers and dump valves sound, it'll never compare to lumpy cams, itb's revving there nuts off.

Traction control in a CTR? Throttle control is an amazing thing and traction control hampers the car and is not remotely required for a 200bhp car with no torque.
I haven't got traction control in my car. I doubt anyone would think that's a problem though and claim it makes the car worse.

You do realise that on track the driver equates to far more than the car being driven? You didn't stop to think for a second that maybe the M3 driver was better and had been all over him in the corners, so down the straight (The bit you're allowed to overtake on), the CTR let him past?
Oh and for reference on this ease business:
300bhp CTR 1200Kg - 250bhp/ton
340bhp M3 1600Kg - 220bhp/ton

Stop smoking the crack, it's making you talk shite. A supercharged CTR would fly past a standard M3 with ease.

WOW dude, relax seriously........it's just a car forum. He doesn't own a civic either. The CTR is NOT a performance car at all, its a hot hatch. It's not pointless to keep modding a 2.0 litre hatch back, you can get it to a very very quick standard that will keep up with/beat many other cars on the road and still have 25-35mpg, 4 seats, a good boot, low service costs, not stupid prices for OEM parts, good insurnace etc etc. So there are alot of good points to be had in modding a civic.

Yes it's not some peoples cup of tea but that doesn't mean its and incorrect thing to do and its pretty obvious from the counbtless number of high BHP civics on here that if done correctly the CTR can easily handle 300bhp no problems.......alot depending on the driver aswell as the car.

I understand what your saying i really do,and as I've said in the recent posts each to there own,if you have 5k+ to mod a 4-6k car then that's up to you but I'd rather just buy a 10-11k factory set up sports car,cause lets be honest no tuning company has the technology and resources that the manufacture has,so in my opinion a factory set up sports car would be better than a self tuned hot hatch,but its just my opinion.
