Evening chaps and lasses, finally getting round to fitting my alpine speakers into the doors of my type r. I have bought some sound proofing (adhesive backed type), but do i insulate the outer skin of the door ie the surface where the door card mounts or do i put the sound proofing into the door and stick it to the inside face of the outer door skin?...............ive also got some diffusers to put behind the speakers.

Any help would be grateful.

Mine was put behind the outside, like literally the otherside of the door panels looking from the outside lol but this is probably incorrect and not what most people do. i'll see if I can post a pic of what should be done from my phone

I suppose in theory it would benefit from having another layer behind this, not possible to cover it completely though.

You can use flashing tape for a cheaper option
