I feel cheated - I haven't had the slightest thing go wrong with mine - and the warranty expires in Feb. I bet thats when it all starts to kick off

They're some of the more common things, doesn't mean every CTR has problems.

Had mine almost 3 years and not had any bother.

I suppose with this being a buyers guide it should be mentioned the oil should be checked as if its grimy and or low it gives a good idea of how the car has been looked after.

Ignore excess road noise as this is common with all ctrs

Other than that I can't think of anything else . . . . .

i assume the stone chips are a common thing? shite paint or something?
am possibly getting one in the next couple of days, so thanks for this info... the one im looking at has quite a lot (possibly too many) stonechips (very small) scattered on the bumber and front of the bonnet. is this normal?

Yeah the paint is sh-t and does seem to chip easy.

My CTR has a ratterly window when 1/4 open, the car pulls to the side (both) depending on the road, has a rattle at cold low rev's from the front, but I don't care... it's the most enjoyable car I've had in 20+ years of driving :-D

Yeah, mine has had steering rack and camber set up correctly (tyres were only lasting 5 mins).
Road noise can be very similar to wheel bearing noise....had mine checked by the stealer twice and ABP when I first got mine. I was paranoid as hell  .
Other than that mines been faultless and still is...apart from the stone chipped front bumper and bonnet  .
