I think these films have got too serious now to go back to the cliche one liners and exploding pens

Watched Casino Royale again last night. Still my favourite "new" Bond.

You can't change the recipe though. It used to be about the cheese/comedy/serious. Now its just clumsy/serious/Daniel Craig with top off for birds, no fun.

Prefer a serious secret agent action film myself. Leave comedy to the American teens idols

Agree. Craig by far the best bond... Stunts are realistic, fight scenes are awesome just like Bourne. The cheese that Brosnan brought was awful.

Also, what gadgets in this one, or is it going to be another gadget-less Bond like the last three?
As far as what has been said publicly by Mr Palmer there are only 10 cars being made and all are going to be used by the film. It's a real shame as the pictures just don't do the car justice and few people will get to see the car in the metal.

As far as gadgets, I don't know what the plans are.....even if I did, I wouldn't be able to say anything.

I'm an official spokesman for Aston Martin.

There will be no gadgets.

I don't want crazy Brosnan era gadgets like invisible cars, but something better than a huge homing beacon like he was given in Skyfall (which was odd considering what current smart phones can do). Also be good to see the Aston not get wrecked upon it's first showing for once.

I did wonder that about the homing beacon being this massive keyring sized thing. Like wtf, just build it into his watch or something

It wasnt just a homing beacon though, it was used to summon backup.
This is the strange thing about the new films, they don't follow on from Pierce Brosnan's efforts, they are more of a set of prequels with Casino Royale being the film where he gets his 00 status. So there wont ever be fancy gadgets until I presume Q develops further in the next films.

Yet he did have the Aston DB5 with ejector seat in Skyfall. I reckon Casino Royale wasn't just young Bond but also a complete reboot, hence why M was still a dame (ignoring the fact Dench came into Bond in Goldeneye as a new female commander), so trying understand how the timeline works is a bit odd. Now we're getting the introduction of Spectre which shows the reboot theory - I'm all for betting that Christoph Waltz will survive at the end, but become Blofeld: lack of hair, scar across eye, white feline, etc.

I just don't get how Bond still has a job - he took M away on his own to keep her alive and she still pegged it. Surely any agent worth their salt would know a lone house in Scotland wouldn't be the best protection. Then again, the whole plot of Skyfall was a lame duck - bad guy makes huge plan, knowing MI7 will lock him up in somewhere he'll know how to get out of, already have explosives planted and running distance from where M will be unprotected so he can shoot her. Of all the Bond villain plots, it wasn't the most exciting and he actually achieved his goal, despite dieing himself.

Q did say in Skyfall 'was you expecting an exploding pen, we don't really go in for that anymore'.

Connery was the best Bond eva! nobody done it better, or had a smoother charm!!! which is vital for Bonds character and very lacking in Craig! not saying Craig never done a good job though for new era Bond.

Disagree with the Brosnan remark as well! his performance in Goldeneye was top notch.

Must be a brown pant moment for the stars when they're in the actual vehicle being driven by a pro up top. I remember the look on Deniro's face in Ronin during the chase scene as he had a false wheel on the driver was on the right side. He does look like he's bricking it big style.

If you want an impressive car rig check out the making of Children of Men with the one shot car scene - giant rig on top, drivers at rear and front, moveable seats and doors.
