You could be mistaken, having seen previous threads\guides on here, for thinking its an extremely time-consuming process involving all manner of specialised equipment, thousands of pounds worth of cleaning products and 8 million gallons of water - I'm here to show you it needn't be like this.
Step one - Wash Method
Today I will be using the one bucket wash method, because lets be honest, its all you really need.
So I took a bucket
Added a small amount of premium cleaning product
Filled with a mixture of hot and cold water, to make warm water
To assist in the process, i'm employing the use of a garden hose pipe, the same kind you would use to water your garden
I like to start with the wheels, otherwise when i've done the rest of the car I can seldom be arsed to do the alloys - doing them first ensures they get cleaned
Gently agitate the dirt with the sponge until you have got it all off - don't worry about minor specks left behind, f**k it they'll be filthy again soon anyway
Turn on the hose pipe
Rince off the excess soap suds
Repeat this for all 4 wheels, which order you do them in is optional, today I started FR, FL, RL, RR but its really up to you
Because cleaning wheels is often a Pain in the ass, I like to pause after doing the wheels for a cup of tea and a cigarette
By now the bucket will probably be nearly empty or full of shitty water, empty bucket and refill using the method we described above
Next we're going to tackle the bodywork, for this i'm going to use a wash mit (hey i'm not an animal you know)
Using a similar method to the wheels, use this all over the bodywork to remove road salt, dirt and just general filth. Some say you should start at the bottom, work your way up then work your way back down again, I say, f**k that, i'm only here to wash it once, start at roof and work down.
Once you've covered the whole body, rinse off thoroughly with the hose pipe
You are now finished, there is no steps which come after this. It is optional, although I have chose not to in this case, to take 47 photos of the finished car from every conceivable angle and then post them up to show off your work/skills to other members
You may also now refer to yourself, in future, as a 'detailer'
The total time taken for this exercise should be no longer than 25-30 mins including tea break.
Any questions let me know
