I've just read in my magazine that a company is providing a new clutch for the CTR. Can someone tell me why would you change the clutch, what difference will it make to the car??

Hi,

if you are keeping your CTR standard, then your standard clutch is more than sufficient.

if you are upping the power, then putting in an uprated clutch is a worthwhile investment as it is less likely to go on you.

you can also change your flywheel to a lightened job. This will help your engine to spin up faster.

You might want to replace the standard clutch for an uprated clutch for the following reasons...

1, If you have extensively modified the engine so that it produces significantly more torque.

2, If you wanted a lighter clutch assembly that will help the engine rev free

3, you are using the car for competeing hill climb, dragstips are particularly heavey on clutches.

4, (unlikly) You can't drive properly and you have worn out the original

I'm sure there could be other reasons, but I hope this helps for now.
