A pulley shouldn't cost you much more than £100 max - who quoted you £600???? Unless that includes fitting and mapping.

Gains, yes, I reckon 1psi = 8-10bhp roughly

Yup! 1psi = 8-10bhp

More to the fact £600 for a possible 30bhp for a K20 = "Cheap as Chips"

CPL quoted me £420 for the 8psi kit, my mate will fit it for 1hrs labour at £35 and then mapping will be about £150. Really keen to get it done but like said I'm sure I can find the kit cheaper.
Thanks for replys

i would look high and low before spending the best part of that 600 pounds at cpl look through ebay and maybe even ebay us as they have lots of bargains to be had on there i know you will sometimes have to pay the import tax but when i was turboing my b16 i got most of my parts from us and for some reason didnt pay any tax either on them which was a plus ...

ebay FTW..

just found this if am on the right path??

as far as am aware its the belt and the pulley plus the mapping but you have that already sorted ...so how much did you manage to get it for?

You will need a different size belt. Personally I wouldn't go for 9psi on a JRSC without cooling.

8psi - unless you have an RSX/DC5 inlet.

I will have a genuine JRSC 3.4" race pulley surplus to requirements in a week or so.

Make me an offer for it.

You would need the pulley, belt and poss injectors. What injectors are you running?

The best gain i had was upgrading from 5 to 7psi pulley. it was about 30hp/20lbft. The car felt a lot quicker. 9psi pulley felt not that much quicker (10-15hp) but also generates a lot of heat. on a hot day you may lose power and throttle response. 7psi is healthy and a nice upgrade. :)

I used to have the 4psi kit, and I did two days at Brunters, one with an EP3 group thrash and one with Redline. Both times there were cars with the 8psi kit. One of those a JDM CTR with the race kit.

Have to say there was not a lot in it until 70 -80 mph when the more powerful cars pulled away quite a bit.

The J tuner times were as follows:

Me: 4psi kit, 0-60 5.9 0-100 13.19
Hovblack 8psi kit 0-60 5.5 0-100 12.07
Steve (JDM 8psi) 0-60 5.6 0-100 11.81

The surface was not brilliant, an d the three of us started on some slippery white airfield lines abd we never realised so the start was not so good. I'm sure you'd get better overall times at the pod say. But at least the times were comparative
