Wonder if someone could help. I bought a 2005 civic type r to take to the Nurburgring with me. Found one on 123k with stacks of history (non of which showing a timing chain replacement)
Anyway took the car over and preformed faultlessly until the second to last day where it developed a misfire and the engine light came on.
With some investigation it showed code PO341 cam position sensor fault.. This pointed the finger at a stretched chain.
Got the vehicle back to the UK and replaced the chain and tensioner for a genuine one. The timing was definitely out, the chain didnt look to bad but the tensioner had seen better days.
Anyway after fitting and timing up the car fired up the first time and it sounds normal. Starts/idles/revs as it should.
However the engine light is still on showing the same code that won't clear? Is it a coincidence that maybe one of the cam sensors and the tensioner failed at the same time?
Any Advice would be appreciated
