Hi all,

New to the Type R club having just bought an 04 which has K&N Induction kit and a straight through decat exhaust, it is the loudest thing I have heard since I last went to Silverstone!

Now this was what made me buy it on the day to be honest, was just so much fun but work aren't impressed so I need to quieten down the beast a little, what would people suggest?

I am thinking about just sticking a cat back on, can a cat be fit to any existing exhaust? What % noise drop would that give you? I have attached a pic of the back box exhaust, any way to be able to tell exactly what it is?

Tbh the only thing that will bring the noise down is a centre silencer as a catback will be almost as loud

Backbox looks like an spoon N1 rep! Think it an M2 one. Spoon N1/Reps are known to be loud matey

If you wanna quieten it down put an larger silencer or get rid of the backbox!
