Does anyone have a pic of a tegiwa heatshield fitted with a typhoon kit? Wonder if its worth getting one? Picked up a typhoon for 40 quid so thought why not, having standard airbox is stopping my exhaust from breathing i think

Before all the heatsoak haters start blabbing... Yes i know and im not bothered this time of year :salut:

Thanks [smilie=karls_thumb.gif]

Think the only reason you have one on a teg m is to stop the heat from knackering the laquer on the carbon box.

Not sure it will make any difference on an open cone. Get a bit on ducting on the go though

Isn't this heat shield made of metal?

Last time I looked metal conducts heat so this is surely just bling???

It can be used with any kit not just the teg m, it says on the website. Yes its made of metal but will surely go some way to helping block the heat. Im just going to buy a new one when i get paid thanks yella :salut:

No pics then?

There you go. You need a hand full of washers as well. He kit doesn't really come with any. The bracket isn't long enough and if you don't space the bracket from the heat shield it vibrates like crazy.

It basically blocks he manifold off. Yes it all gets hot in there but I can honestly say I've not noticed any heat soak in the past 2 months with this set up. For the sake of £20 it's got to help shield the filter from heat and dirt. :-)

The whole bay is going be hot. I don't think adding the heat shield will isolate a pocket of colder air I mean the metal itself will get hot. But if it makes u feel better go for it ;)

It will trap colder air coming in when moving? At the same time blocking the (direct heat) it will help atleast. Im not saying its going to make it a CAI but for a cheap option for the winter months it a no brainer

We dont all have CTRO endless monies availible for teg M's however much i would love one! Im sure they are great but not an option for me at this time.

With the added bonus of not having to cut the car up and you can open the bonnet :-)

heat sheild in a hot engine bay does next to nothing, u will see more benifits from an enclosed box with ducting or bonnet risers
