The dealer I got mine from has sold at least one more. I called two other dealers when I was trying to get the price down, two of which would not budge on the cash price at all because they'd already had a number of orders at list price.

i think the price is justified. mugen stuff is expensive yes, but its the reputation and stigma that is attatched along with it. however as its been broken down it seems to make sense. on the basis that its a lot of money for not a lot, then the cw edition is expensive because its a paint job, lsd, hid's and chrome handles and filler cap etc. but its worth it because its a cool car, its white, and its limited edition!!

Therfore the mugen 200 is even moee limited than the cw, so should be even more expensive, and its got mugen bits thrown at it which are expensive as f**k anyway. But its worth it because its limited and its mugen.

if you want a stripped out porsche with no carpets, a bird cage and hard as stone seats and suspension you pay more than the silky smooth (you'd probably live in it) normal porsche. your paying more for something they've done less too. ferrari do the same and so does lamborghini.

This isn't a porsche no, but its the principle. its a (in some peoples opinion) better, good looking car, filled with look at me im a limited edition charm.

i think you've done well to get the car at that price mate! and look forward to seeing pictures of your car!!3

No, sorry, its still a rip off for some stick on mugen sh-t which looks worse than the original car. Filled with 'look at me, i'm a mug, I paid nearly 4 grand extra to have this sh-t because its mugen'

Bet they don't.

Mate, they were offering £4.5K off the basic car at one point and if you go into Renault or Vauxhall you can get around 5K off a new Megane or VXR. So whats your point? Its not wrong for manufacturers to discount you know.
come on dude, they're standard models you're referencing, discount is expected, this Mooogen is meant to be a 'limited special edition', which tend not to get discounted, so £1400 of list on launch is a little worrying

Its a Honda not an Aston Martin.

Even the CW edition was discounted in some dealers. All dealers have different buying prices so have differering margins. Its upto them how much they discount by, unless of course Honda force them to sell at list.

The new Megane 250 is currently being discounted by £4.5K at some dealers, its been out two months.

When I was trying to get the price down on mine, the dealer in Cardiff, Swansea and Bristol wouldn't budge on the price. I went to a much smaller dealer and only then was I offered a discounted price straight up - fair play to the guy. He told me he's a member of this forum, actually.

Jesus get off your soap box already.

Once again, it's all down to personal preference. If we all drove the same car, it'd be pretty boring out there. You think it looks "sh!t" - good for you. Others don't, so there is no need to call them a mug for paying extra for something that they see value in.

Like it or not, the price of the Mugen parts are reflected in the list price of the M200 - no more, no less.

I've said it before - if you're not interested in Mugen parts, then you wouldn't be interested in this car FFS. So don't look at it. Move on. Nothing for you to see here. However, if you're interested in Mugen parts, it's not a rip off.

I know it's not an Aston, that makes no sense

and again, this is a limited run, a special edition, only 200 made, yes? the Megane 250 is the regular car, the original Focus RS had no discount, neither did the 30th anniversary EP3

Well I'm not saying the M200 is awesome. Although IMO, it is.

I'm just saying some facts - as I've stated all along in this thread.

He seems to think that it's sh!t, and that everyone else should think it is sh!t. And that everyone who buys one is a mug.

It is, they should, and they are.

Better off buying the much cheaper and better looking standard car.

Course it makes sense. Its still a standard manufacturer car, its not a priceless piece of art and like I say its down to the dealer what discount is in place. Ford dealers are discounting the RS at the moment, not by much but its a start. The Megane R26.R was completely special edition and they were discounted by £5K at the end of its life.

Also, with regards to the 30th anniversary........oh yes they were matey. I know two people who bought from new and got them with an average of £800 off.

Let me know when you've managed to pull your head out of your own arse and I'll happily have an adult conversation with you.

I'm not interested in talking to people who think only their opinion counts.

if you're getting £1400 off them then price is getting more reasonable, basically they're throwing in the mugen wing for free

I was interested in one of these but sadly without bt/nav would feel like a step back into the dark ages I remember my first hands free car kit in 1988....having said that I can read a map so...

To be honest the discount doesn't surprise me that much.

When we got special editions in, they were pretty much treated like any other car. We were of course reluctant to give discount as you generally got more for your money on special editions anyway - so we'd build value into that.

However, with the more specialised and expensive Special Editions it was quite often hard to find someone willing to pay the extra over the standard top spec model for example. (In this particular case probably less so) But you'd then get stuck with it and be paying stacks of interest for having the car on site. Thus when someone was interested we'd just make sure they bought it, discount and freebies ftw!

I cant see why peeps are negative, I have ordered a Mugen 200 and im really pleased. I also liked the EP3 but I want a new car and this was for me. As for the discounts, I tried all the big dealerships but they would not budge but the small dealer I bought from was so excited about selling me one he done it pretty much at cost as it they just appreciated the car it was and the sale.
