Right,
I use the same tape as you do so i'll try and expalin it. Get the deflectors in the house, run a strech of tape all the way up them, keep the white stuff on as once there on get a towel and rub the tape on with alot of pressure to make sure every part of it is attached to the surface it is over. Once you have done the remove the backing, then do another strip over the top of the one you have already done. Trust me with the mammoth tape you need to do this. Repeat with the towel to get it to stick as well as possible....keep the backing tape on this time. You will see at the end that goes towards the rear windo there will be a little 1.5 inch area that needs tape, just do the same thing there with the towel and doubleing up, again at the other end there is a little area (I think) that needs some tape. ONLY DOUBLE UP THE TAPE IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 1 ROLL OF THE MAMMOTH STUFF. If you dont buy a 2nd roll as one deflector takes one 2.5 metre roll.
The reason you double up the tape is the mammoth stuff is not thick enough to bond the deflector to the door for a long period of time, over a week or so the pressure from the deflector pulls it off the door.......if you double up it stops that from happening. I have refitted mine 4 times until I got it right! :bad-words:
Test fit:
Ok now you have the deflectors with doubled up tape and the backing still on. Go to your car, lower the window on the side your doing. there is a little foam bit on the deflector closest to the side mirror, slide that bit in the gap that the window would go in. This insures the deflector follows the correct line. then gentle place the clips under the rubber bit of the window.....that will make more sence when you get too it. the 2nd or 3rd clip actually hangs over the the rubber part agin you'll understand when you do it. Get the deflctor on to ensure you know what to do before you remove the backing.
Actual fit:
Ok now you have test fitted it and know where all the clips go etc time for the real deal. DO NOT remove all the backing in on go!!!! Again get the deflector in the correct position without inserting the clips, remove about 1-2 inches og the backing.....do not rip it off, pull it back and upwards so the white backing is pointing towards the sky, you will slowly remove it as you fit the deflector it makes it so much easier. So now slowely rmove the backing and insert the clips while you add pressure to the areas of glue that will now be touching the area it will bond too. try not too pull off more than 3 inches of the backing ahead of yourself, this stuff is a bitch to get off if you mess up.
Before you get to the end remove that extra 1.5 inch part you did. Once you get it on apply a good amount of pressure to the whole deflector rubbing it up and down to help get as much of the glue to be attached to the area. Then repeat on other side.
Hope that made sence in some way, bit hard to explain without pictures.
